Easy Dark Chocolate Fudge

Fudge!  A decadent treat that most of us really like!  Have you ever had some that, although tasty, had that grainy ‘feel’ to it?  Well, here is a recipes that guarantees not to leave your treats feeling grainy!  The secret is using sweetened condensed milk instead of granulated sugar!  Not only does the fudge come out smooth but two steps (adding milk and then sugar) are also combined into one.  Here’s how I do this….

Ingredients:

3 cups of chocolate chips (I’m a huge fan of dark chocolate so I that’s what I use)

1 14 ounce can of sweetened condensed milk

1 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon of salt

Making it!

1. In a saucepan over low heat, combine chocolate chips, milk, vanilla and salt; stir until smoothly melted. *If your chocolate becomes a little stiff, add a little bit of milk to thin it out some.

2. Spread the melted mixture onto an 8″ X 8″ baking dish lined with parchment paper.

3. Cool until set (about two hours)

4. Cut into squares and serve.

Options:  Add your favorite nuts (my favorite is Pecans)!  For Rocky Road Fudge, mix in some miniature marshmallows with the nuts.  For an adult twist, put a splash of flavored liquor in during the melting process.

This recipe is intended to be basic and something to work from.  Kick it up a notch and have some fun with it!
